Writing Assignment

Larger then life

I liked this picture because it surprised me a lot and take me time to figure out this picture. Picture taken by George Steinmetz and it is called ((Larger then life)) in February 2004 for National Geographic which most of his pictures are very good. He toke this picture while he was fling by himself in the seat of the lightest powered aircraft in the world, a motorized paraglide. The aircraft consists of three components: the “wing” of a paraglide (similar to an aerobatic parachute), a back-pack mounted motor, and a single-seat harness that ties the three pieces together This photograph shows a unique aerial perspective of The Empty Quarter in my country. When we take a look at the Compositional StrategiesOf this picture you will see it is a Horizontal format. Also, the shape is very clear by the shadow of the camels. And the best was the Movement, which is stop motion. Must of people in the first look cant believe that the black camels are actually the shadows of the actual camel. I knew it was camels and I love camels and desert. My family has almost 56 camels in the desert. When I was back home I go to there at lest three time a week. When you go to desert you feel free from every things work, school, people and other things that why I love the pictures taking from far not the micro pictures. In this one you can really see how different angle and make the photo much better and where the photographer stand. However, not only the angle of the photographer but the angle of light was perfect. The photographer choose the right moment to take the shoot and this why a good photographer should carry his/her camera everywhere any time because they have to be ready. The photographer did a great job shooting this one.
